Zewail City Welcomes Japan Foundation Delegation to Explore Strategic Cooperation

Zewail City for Science, Technology, and Innovation received a high-level delegation from the Japan Foundation as part of ongoing efforts to expand international cooperation and strengthen global partnerships in education, culture, and professional development.
The visit was attended by senior leadership from Zewail City, including Dr. Wael Akl, Executive President of Zewail City; Dr. Ibrahim El-Shirbiny, Vice Executive President for Education; Dr. Youhansen Eid, Vice Executive President for Institutional Excellence and International Cooperation; and Dr. Amira El-Deeb, Dean of the School of Continuing Education and Professional Development.

The Japan Foundation delegation was headed by Mrs. Ayumi Hashimoto, Director of the Japan Foundation in Egypt, accompanied by Mr. Hayato Furujo, First Secretary atthe Embassy of Japan in Egypt.The visit aimed to explore potential areas of cooperation between Zewail City and the Japan Foundation across several strategic dimensions, including education, capacity building, cultural exchange, and lifelong learning initiatives while aligning with international standards and shared development objectives.This visit reflects Zewail City’s commitment to deepening its international engagement and reinforcing its position as a regionally recognized hub for innovation-driven education. It also underscores the Japan Foundation’s role in fostering meaningful partnerships that promote cross-cultural understanding and sustainable institutional collaboration.
