Program Overview
During the first two years, students complete core courses in mathematics and basic sciences with a strong emphasis on physics.
In the final two years, students pursue advanced coursework within one of three concentration areas: Astrophysics, High Energy Physics, or Applied Physics. These tracks offer specialized instruction delivered by experts from Zewail City’s research centers, combining theoretical knowledge with computational and experimental training.
Graduates develop strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills that are highly transferable to research, industry, technology, government institutions, and academia.

Graduation Requirements
To earn a Bachelor of Science in Physics , students must complete 130 credit hours through a structured study pathway that combines foundational sciences, advanced physics training, and specialized concentration coursework.
Degree Structure
- Foundation Year (34 Cr): A common first year for all science students, building strong foundations in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and academic communication.
- University Requirements (16 Cr): General education courses that develop communication skills, ethical awareness, and social responsibility.
- School of Science Requirements (32 Cr): Core mathematics and basic sciences, laboratory training, and an internship that prepares students for scientific practice.
- Major Requirements (70 Cr): Advanced coursework in theoretical, experimental, and computational physics, including senior research projects.
- Concentration Requirements (12 Cr): Specialized study in either Astrophysics or High Energy Physics.
